Corridors Of Power(walking)If you watch a lot of US TV shows like The West Wing and Commander In Chief you'll know that all the real work gets done in the Whitehouse corridors. A build-up of troops amassing on the Korean border? Let's sort it out while we walk purposefully to our next meeting. A chemical spill in Smallsville, USA? Walk with me to the helicopter and we'll put it right. It seems if there's any heavy business going on, it'll get fixed in a brisk stroll from the oval office to the coffee machine by the photocopier and then back to the oval office again. That's why anybody who's anybody hangs around in the corridors. Just watch these shows. There's thousands of them, all walking around like they really need to be somewhere! I don't know why they bother to give them offices, because they're never in them.
The danger, of course, is that one day they may end up with a president who can't walk and talk at the same time...
