Return Of The Son Of Project Voodoo

Back to my perennial rant. Everybody, sing along!

It's all too easy to delude ourselves that the reason it rained today is because we shook our rain stick and did our little rain dance, or that the reason the boss gave us that promotion is because we used a voodoo doll to control his actions.



And it's even easier for what are essentially support staff - you may know them as managers - to walk away from a project under the misguided impression that the software was delivered by them.

The reality, of course, is that software developers - I mean, real ones, who actually write code and everything - deliver software, and the most anyone can do to help that to happen is to clear a path for them and just let them do it.

No amount of stick-shaking or pin-sticking will make any difference.
