More Showing. More Doing. Less Talking. SC2010 AspirationsFirst of all, just a quick thanks while I'm at the keyboard to everyone who bought tickets for Boffoonery! and everyone who spread the word. I'm still waiting for confirmation of overnight ticket sales, but the early signs were that we had a good first day. If you haven't managed to get your ticket yet, I would recommend you do it sooner rather than later as tickets are going fast.
Secondly, I wanted to post a video that I hope will illustrate what style of session I'd be aiming for the Software Craftsmanship 2010 conference, which is likely to be in May/June and possibly at Bletchley Park.
This is Steve Vai giving a guitar clinic at the Guitar Institute of Technology in California in 1985. Basically, when you give a clinic at GIT, you're kind of expected to play. And talk a bit. And then play some more. And many of the audience wil have their guitars with them (unplugged, of course) so they can try some of the stuff you're showing them.
At around 7:35 he discusses the importance of exercises and practice.
